LEARN TO SKATE CLASSES
Our Classes
- Snowplow 1-3: This class is designed for children
3-6 years of age, who are just starting out. The main purpose of this
class is to teach balance on the ice, and increase comfort on the ice.
- Advanced Snowplow/Basic 1-4: This class begins to
teach a child how to correctly skate forward and backwards. They will
begin understanding and using correct edges. They will also learn a
beginner spin. Advanced snowplow is for ages 3-6, and Basic 1-4 is for
skaters age 7 and up.
- Freestyle 1-6*: Children that have passed all the
basic classes and wish to continue their progression in skating will
find this class is perfectly suited for them. This is when a child
begins to understand and learn the different jumps, spins, and
movements in figure skating.
- Power & Style*: This class focuses on strength
and endurance while working on proper technique. It also combines a
class designed to help with movement and connecting steps.
- Hockey 1: Each week includes a review of skills
learned in Pre Hockey/Learn to Skate and the introduction of new skills
such as snowplow stop, one-foot glides, backward O's, and forward
strides. From this solid base, the fundamental skills of skating, stick
handling, passing, and shooting can be learned.
- Hockey 2: Each week includes a review of skills
learned in Hockey I and the introduction of new skills such as v-start,
